Easter

Samantha has a very nice Easter with the whole family and got her own little Easter basket. (although she preferred Dominic's ball over everything else!) She munched on dinner and was a total ham for the camera as usual!

New Shades

9 month Update

Samantha has been cruising everywhere and although she has taken a few solo steps here and there, she feels more comfortable if she has something to hang on to. She has been having a great time playing with Dominic and they do pretty well sharing. She's just starting on finger foods which she really like but she still won't hold her cup.

She had her 9 month check up and is doing great. She's 27.5 inches tall (50th %) and 16 pounds 12 ounces (25th%). No shots this visit so that was great.

Crawling and Cruising

Samantha has been very resistant to crawling. She hated having her hands on the ground and always wanted to stand instead. Well, last week she finally gave in and started crawling. Of course she only does it until she can get to something to pull up on. Then over the weekend she had a huge jump in abilities and is crawling and cruising everywhere! She can get up and down and as long as there is something to hold on to she is one very mobile little girl! (Just ignore the last part of the video. :-)

Pierced Ears and Mardi Gras

I've been thinking for a while of getting Samantha's ears pierced. I finally decided I should do it when I saw an article from a pediatrician that the best age to do it (if you're going to do it young) is between 3 and 10 months. So I called and interviewed the piercer at the Piercing Pagoda and decided to do it. I gave Samantha a dose of tylenol and we went to the mall. I paid up front and planned on sitting with her to nurse her afterwards. She pierced the first ear and she started crying and then the second ear was done. I picked her up and by the time we were done talking about cleaning her ears she was done crying and hasn't thought twice about it since! I thought it was going to be like when gets her shots but this was much easier for her!

Afterwards we went to Mardi Gras and enjoyed the parade, although Samantha was not a fan of the beads being thrown!

Trip to Florida

Unfortunately in our mad dash to the airport we forgot our camera but we did borrow Nan and Pop's to take a few pictures. Samantha loved playing outside in the warm weather and watching Dominic play in the waves. (She also wanted the sand but I tried to keep her away from that!)
