6 month update
Ok, neither I or the secretary at the doc's office can count so we made her 6 month appointment for when she turns 7 months. So I have no measurements but I do have updates. Samantha is grabbing for everything. She loves the tub ans splashes like crazy with a big smile on her face. She has finally decided that she'll eat solids and loves carrots and sweet potatoes. She wasn't too sure of pears but that may be because it was her first fruit. She gets the walker going now and has gotten up on all fours but no real sense of crawling yet. She must be going through a growth spurt because she has been eating all night lately. Every night around 6 pm she talk away...loudly! She's such a happy baby and is such a joy to be around.
6 Months Old!!!
I know I always say this, but how does time go so fast? Samantha is already 6 months old!! Happy half-birthday baby girl!
Aunt Marilyn's sweater
I received this sweater at Dominic's shower. Obviously he didn't wear it but Samantha looks adorable. Thank you for making this sweater Aunt Marilyn.

Sitting by herself!
On November 15th (5 months exactly) Samantha started sitting all by herself! She had been trying for a while and was pretty close where she could hold herself for a few seconds. Now she's like an old pro and can turn to look around and grab thing while she's sitting. I still put some pillows behind her if I leave the room but otherwise she's pretty independent as long as her brother doesn't get too overzealous!

1st Halloween!
For Samantha's first halloween she got to be a chili pepper and accompany her brother trick or treating. She did great even though she did have a bit of a cold.
Samantha Update
On October 30th Samantha had her 4 month check up. A little late but Dominic already had a 2 year appointment for that day so we decided one trip to the doctor was enough. She did great with her vaccines and didn't cry until the 2nd one. She smiled away at the doctor and the nurse. She measured 25.5 inches long (90th%) and 14 pound 15 ounces (75th%). The nurse asked us how we ended up with such big kids. I think it's the recessive genes!
I know haven't had much time to keep the blog current but Samantha is such a happy baby. She smiles easily and is pretty mellow still. (Although she does occasionally have the Richardson Scowl!) She loves her brother!! She is such a joy to be around.

Chillin'!
Cereal?
Samantha hasn't shown too much interest in eating solids yet but I decided to give it a try on October 26th since she has seemed hungry in the evenings (and Dominic was chowing down on solids by now.)
Rolling over!
Samantha had been trying so hard to roll over from her back. She was so close all weekend and then she finally did it on October 3rd! (While mommy was at work!) Thankfully daddy video taped it for me. Yay Samantha!!

Hello
Pacifier
Reaching
Work :-(
Unfortunately we did not win the powerball so I had to go back to work. It wasn't any easier than the first time and I was very glad to get home at the end of the day. They did great with daddy though and thankfully we learned the trick to get Samantha to take a bottle. Latex nipples! Thanks to a tip from Shauna we tried it out and it worked. Phew! Mommy was getting VERY nervous when after 4 bottles and only one week left before work and Samantha was still refusing the bottle. We bought a latex nipple, put it on the bottle and braced ourselves for the inevitable crying. To our surprise (and relief) she started sucking, drank two ounces and fell asleep!
Exersaucer
Samantha loves standing but she's still a bit short for the walker or jumper so we decided to get her an exersaucer.

Rocking
Long lost family
1st Trip to Florida
We all went down for a week in Florida and Samantha had her 1st flight. She did fantastic. She didn't cry and slept off and on for most of the flight. We have such great travelers! Although while we were down there she decided that the car was no longer a nice place to be and she cried every road trip. I'm not sure what it was but hopefully it was just the rental car!
Soo Cold!!!
More Smiling!
Happy Baby!
2 Month Checkup
On the 16th Samantha had her 2 month check up. She measured 23" long and weighed 11pounds 11 ounces. She's in the 75th percentile for all of her measurements. She also had her first set of vaccines (from the good nurse!). Can you believe that they've added yet another vaccine to the schedule since Dominic was this age?! Although we chose to get it (it was an oral vaccine for Rotavirus) this is exactly why we are following a delayed schedule for Dominic and Samantha. She handled the shots well and we kept up the tylenol until bed time.
